According to a survey by PriceGrabber.com, more consumers are utilizing online commerce to make their big-ticket furniture and appliance purchases. Their March survey indicated that a majority of consumers are using websites, rather than brick and mortar retail, to make informed purchases. In other words, potential customers are doing most of their research online, rather than get a feel for a product first hand. Back when PriceGrabber.com conducted a similar survey in August 2006, about 70 percent of customers needed to see the item in person before purchasing it online. Now more consumers trust online commerce to make major purchases.
